CHILDREN

HCC Kids is a fun, safe, and exciting environment for kids from birth to fifth grade. We meet every Sunday, in-person and online, we host events, celebrate milestones like Child Dedication, Baptism, and Move-Up Sunday.

Birth-Age 5

Infants and Toddlers

When it comes to our Infants and Toddlers our goal is to make them feel safe and loved. In all of our environments we have clean, developmentally appropriate toys alongside safe, loving volunteers. We love connecting with kids because when they connect with us, we can begin to help them connect with God.

Preschoolers

In our preschool environments, kids connect with God in developmentally appropriate ways while giving you the tools to disciple them at home. Every Sunday is packed with jumping, singing, and dancing. Combine this with exciting crafts and silly games and you’ve got a recipe for fun!

By the time our preschoolers advance into our Elementary program we want them to know:

  • God LOVES me.
  • God MADE me.
  • Jesus wants to be my FRIEND forever.

STUDENTS

Youth: Grades 5th – 12th

We’re all about helping youth connect with God. We think this happens when students:

E– encounter God through amazing worship and having leaders walk with them in Small Groups.

G– grow in community by making friends in a fun environment and serving with each other on ministry teams.

L– lead the change that God wants in our family, school, church, and community.

We believe your child can connect with God through E.G.L. no matter where they are in life.

What does E.G.L look like for my child?

5/6 ministry: For students in 5th and 6th grade.

5/6 students experience an environment designed just for them. These students Encounter God through YouTube-style video teaching specifically made to keep their attention. Grow in community by making friends through our icebreakers, music, and games. We ask students to Lead the change by opening up in our group discussions about what they’re learning and what it means to follow God in all areas of their life.

7/8 ministry: For students in 7th and 8th grade

Come hang out with us in our transformed lobby environment designed for students to make new friends, find a place they are comfortable, all while grabbing a snack to eat. 7/8 students Encounter God through live teaching that uses stories, props, illustrations, and even student interviews to make God’s word applicable for their lives. Students Grow in community by participating in the icebreakers, games, and discussions specifically for small groups to connect with each other. We ask 7th and 8th graders to Lead the change by joining teams that range from tech, welcome, set up, and much more.

High School: For 9th-12th grade

The most important thing we do is partner with parents to help high school students live out their faith. High-schoolers Encounter God through worship and teaching that ask them to take a deeper look at their faith. We challenge these students to Grow in community by discovering how God can use their stories to help others in small group discussions. Students Lead the change by joining serving teams in all areas of the church and possibly serve on a student leadership team that trains students in what Christian leadership looks like.

These weekly environments along with camps, retreats, mission trips, and special events make for a church family that we hope students come back to for the rest of their lives.

Our service begins with relational lobby time and transitions into a large group game and

lesson. Our students then spend time in small groups, where they grow closer to Christ and

each other.

Adults

Because we believe people grow in community, we place a high value on groups at Huntington Christian. We offer various types of groups including groups that meet in homes, digital groups, and men’s and women’s groups that meet at various locations around town. If you’re interested in joining a group, please click the button below to give us information on what type of group you’re looking for. Our groups team will review your information and help you get connected in a group.

Join a Group

Find your group. What this button says and where it leads will depend on whether we reinstitute having groups. The group info form because of the ever-changing status of groups during COVID, so for now, it should probably say “Help me find a group” or “I’m interested in a group”

Spiritual Growth – The Discipleship Journey

At HCC, our mission is to help people connect with God. This is important to us because we believe that Jesus changes everything. We want to help as many people as possible grow as disciples. A disciple is someone who follows Jesus, lives like Jesus and helps others do the same.

We know that everyone is somewhere on the spiritual journey. That means we all have next steps we can take. Our responsibility as a church, and as disciples, is to meet people where they are and help them take next steps. We intentionally invest our resources of money, time and effort in groups, classes and events that help people move along the journey.

Explore. Decide. Grow. Lead.

Spiritual growth is rarely linear, and all Christ followers grow at different paces at different times, but we aim to make it easy for you to identify where you are and what your next step might be.

Explore

You may be new to anything related to church, faith or even the idea that there is a God who cares about you and wants to have a relationship with you. Bring your questions and doubts and be open to exploring what connecting with God is all about.

Decide

After exploring options in any aspect of life, there comes a point when you must decide. Jesus offers salvation and a new way of living, but it’s about more than just believing that he existed. It’s up to each of us to choose to accept the gift of Salvation and follow Him.

Grow

You decided to follow Jesus. And you keep hearing us say “Jesus Changes Everything.” So what does that look like?

This phase of the journey is all about learning new truths, developing new habits and attitudes and learning to live like Jesus. Being in a group is key to this because People Grow in Community. This is a great time to begin connecting with your God-given purpose as you discover that Everyone has a Mission.

Lead

As you continue to grow in your faith, you won’t want to keep the good news of Jesus (the Gospel) to yourself. This part of the journey is all about helping others find and follow Jesus. It’s the mission of all disciples. And it is a journey, not a destination.
